20th Annual Night B4 Thanksgiving LOD Cancelled

In a year that just continues to take away events left & right, it is unfortunate that we must add another event to the growing list of 2020 Covid casualties. After going through the Governor's new DHM's, speaking with the Managers at the venue and examining everything ... we have no choice but to cancel the 20th Annual Brodersen's Night B4 Thanksgiving LOD.

With DHM's restricting capacity at the venue to only 75 people, requiring everyone to have a seat and no more than 8 at each table; the logistics were impossible to work out. The tournament averages more than the newly appointed capacity just in players; that doesn't count all of the guests and everyone else who wanders in to join the festivities. The fact is that we all have a duty to make sure that those same people whom we love & care about, whether they be friends, family, customers, etc. are safe and not placed into a situation that could have a very bad outcome. For the reasons stated above, we felt we had no other choice this year.

While it is with deep sadness & regret that this pandemic year has claimed another, we fully expect to return next year for the 20th year even better. We are also aware that many players count on this event to give them one final push into the Ultimate Qualifier's Top 40 or to start them out strong for the upcoming year ... so there will be an announcement made for events to allow those players to still get any needed points.

Trust us when we say that no one involved is happy that this is happening ... Central Distributing, the coin-op vendor ... VFW #2543 who has hosted the event each & every year ... the many players who have helped make this event an annual tradition ... and especially the Brodersen family who love and look forward to seeing so many players come out to enjoy the event they started almost two decades ago.
