As you may or may not be aware, at the conclusion of each dart league, we host a tournament for each league at one of our league locations. This tournament offers your team a chance to meet and socialize with the other teams in your league and compete against them in a tournament. Winning a tournament earns the team a photo plaque for their sponsoring bar, a small cash prize and their photo on every Greater Omaha Dart League dartboard for the duration of the upcoming season to let everyone know of your accomplishment.
Participating in the tournament is completely optional, but strongly encouraged. Each team will also receive their payback checks (compensation for wins/losses throughout the season) at their tournament. Any payback checks that are not collected at City tournament will be available for pickup at Central Distributing office the following week. In another effort to give their players the spotlight, Greater Omaha Leagues has announced that it will host a two-day tournament to crown its first Men's & Women's Singles Champion in November 2017. The event will be part of what they are referring to as Greater Omaha's Dart Championship Weekend; being held just a couple days after their annual Brodersen's Night Before Thanksgiving luck of the draw which brings close to a hundred players each year. Hosting the event will be the Plattsmouth VFW, which has been bringing you the Night Before Thanksgiving tournament each year since its inception. The spin on this event that makes it stand out from the norm is that it is a NO COST tournament. There are no entry fees or game cost for the event. "We wanted to offer a tournament that would benefit our players and let them know how much we appreciate their loyalty to our leagues." said league coordinator Steve Garrean Jr. The tournament is an "Invite-Only" tournament, meaning only the top 48 males and top 48 females (based upon MPR) as of 8/1/17 were invited to participate in the event. In addition, players must have played in either the Winter or Summer 2017 league and currently be playing in the Fall 2017 league to be eligible to participate in the event. All players listed below have met the aforementioned criteria and only need to play in one of Greater Omaha Leagues' Fall offerings to meet full eligibility. Those leagues are: Sunday 1pm Remote Adult/Youth Doubles, Sunday 4pm Remote Doubles CR, Monday 7:30pm Remote Doubles 01/CR, Monday 7:30pm Fremont Travel Team, Tuesday 7:30pm Remote Mixed Trips, Tuesday Neb City Doubles League, Wednesday Cass Co. Travel Trios, Thursday 7:30pm Remote Team Cricket or one of the TOC remote leagues with Greater Omaha Leagues. Any invited players who decline their invite, don't play in any Fall leagues and/or no-show the event will be considered a forfeit and an automatic win for their opponent on the bracket. Game Format: Winners: 701 O/M, CR, 701 O/M, CR, 701 O/M (Race to 3) Losers: 701 O/M, CR, 701 O/M (Race to 2) Cricket Round Limit - 20, '01 Round Limit - 15 **If round limit is reached, in CR the player with most points wins...in 01 the player with the least points wins. Day 1 Schedule: Check-in: 11-11:45am, Shoot 12pm Bracket play resumes until apprx. 10pm Day 2 Schedule: (If necessary) Shoot 12pm Bracket play resumes until completion Results from this event, including photos, will be featured in Bullshooter Magazine and local publications as well. We would love to be able to make this an annual thing in combination of the Night Before Thanksgiving tournament, but this first year will be the test run for how well it is received and/or plays out. *If tournament is ahead of schedule, play may be concluded during day 1 of the tournament and day 2 may not be necessary. If we are nearing the finals of play at the 10pm cutoff of day 1, we may continue the tournament until conclusion that night. **This tournament was designed to help promote players striving to be the best. This is meant to help discourage "sandbagging" and is a benefit to those players who strive to excel. Update 10/1/17: Players with an asterisk following their names failed to meet eligibility requirements to participate and will be converted to a forfeit on the bracket.
**Any player who drops out of a Summer or Fall league is automatically ineligible for this event. There should not be a reward given to players who disrupt the league by not completing.
