Saturday September 26th marked the date of the first fundraiser for the 2016 Greater Omaha Leagues' Junior National team, nicknamed "The Wolfpack" and affectionately known as "The Pack".
The first fundraiser was a Luck of the Draw dart tournament to allow supporters to get to know the new faces on the team, as well as see them in action. The event also featured 50/50 raffles and prize raffles, as well as the ability to purchase the team's wristbands. Many of you may be familiar with the team from their 2015 Junior National quest, which resulted in multiple National Championships and other trophies being brought back with the team. This year the team has expanded greatly, introducing 11 new youth players; along with two new coaches. 2016 Team Roster: Chance Taylor, 14 years old, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Kole Gray, 16 years old, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Dallas Winters, 14 years old, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Jeff Martens, 19 years old, Fremont, Nebraska DJ Bibler, 16 years old, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Dylan Dietl, 16 years old, Nehawka, Nebraska Kade Hansen, 13 years old, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Tabor Ahlers, 12 years old, Louisville, Nebraska Brandon Ketchum, 20 years old, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Trenton Marasco, 13 years old, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Ryley Kellison, 17 years old, Plattsmouth, Nebraska 2016 Coaches: Steve Garrean Jr, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Matt Winters, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Gabe Ahlers, Louisville, Nebraska Wes Babcock, Omaha, Nebraska One name that you may have noticed missing is that of Trenton Record, from last year's team. Unfortunately Record moved away following the 2015 National tournament and was not able to participate on this year's squad. The coaches continue to keep in contact with him through social media and remain available to him for advice. The coaches are very excited about this new team and the progress and potential that they are already showing. With the next nine months to continue working with them and getting them great experience, they believe the sky is the limit for this squad. The returning players are looking to successfully defend their National Championship & National Runner-up status and the new members are looking to make some heads turn themselves. The team and the coaches thank everyone who came out to support them and look forward to future fundraising events, such as bake sales, chili cook-offs, car washes, raffles, pancake feeds and of course a few more dart tournaments too. Greater Omaha Leagues is constantly evolving and improving its leagues for the players. Recently Greater Omaha Leagues made the decision to allow anyone and everyone access to the financial end of their leagues. It's no secret that Greater Omaha Leagues gives more back to the players than most leagues, but now they want everyone to see how.
Not only does Greater Omaha Leagues give players back the league dues they pay in weekly, but they also give them the sponsor fees they collect from bars in the form of custom embroidered league championship polos and addition to the year-end Ultimate Qualifier Series Finale.
