Greater Omaha Leagues: When did you start playing darts and who/what got you into the sport? Sonny Seyler: “I started 16 years ago. Got started by just hanging out in the bar and some buddy’s asked me to join a league.” Greater Omaha Leagues: What keeps you involved in the dart leagues after so many years? Sonny Seyler: “I stay involved for the friends and new faces that you see and meet…plus I like to win when I can.” Greater Omaha Leagues: What is the most fun team that you have been on? Sonny Seyler: “The most fun team would have to be back in the day with my buddy Joe Algya and my dad. Everyone was out to have a good time and it didn’t matter if we won or lost.” Greater Omaha Leagues: What was the best team you were ever on? Sonny Seyler: “The best team ever is hard to say, there have been a lot of them. They were all the best in their own way.” Greater Omaha Leagues: What is your best dart-related memory? Sonny Seyler: “I have several memories, but I would have to say when you go to a tournament and beat the best guy in the place.” Greater Omaha Leagues: What are your biggest achievements thus far in your dart career? Sonny Seyler: “My biggest achievement would be getting where I am at now, a 2.8 MPR and holding it…never going down or up, just being able to throw the same is great.” Greater Omaha Leagues: Who do you feel is a much better player than their average indicates? Sonny Seyler: “There are a lot of players that have it in them to shoot better than they do; they just need more practice.” Greater Omaha Leagues: Who would you consider to be the best player you’ve ever played with or against? Explain. Sonny Seyler: “Wow. The best player I’ve played against is hard, since there’s been a few…lately I would have to say Steve Garrean Jr. or Donnie Nippert. Those two stick out in my head right now.” Greater Omaha Leagues: If you could change anything about the local dart leagues, what would it be? Sonny Seyler: “The only thing I would change about the leagues is to find a way to attract more players and keep the number of teams higher, so you play different people all of the time.” Greater Omaha Leagues: Would you recommend our leagues to players? Why or why not? Sonny Seyler: “I would recommend our leagues, they are fun. You go different places if you want to and pay back is better than other leagues’.” Greater Omaha Leagues: Who would you like to see us feature in a future interview? Sonny Seyler: “I would like you to interview everyone. They will all have a different option and thought about the game.”
