Another successful league season is almost in the books, with many of the league championships still undecided going into the final weeks of play. With that, it comes the time of year when we set up the season-ending tournaments for the leagues.

At the season-ending tournaments, teams get to meet up, socialize and compete against one another in bracketed tournaments to crown the City Champion for each of the leagues. Listed below is the schedule for this season's tournaments:

Sunday Doubles Cricket - Held on Saturday June 7th, 2014 at Stoli's Lounge in Omaha, NE. Check-in 12pm, Shoot 1pm. Stoli's Lounge is also adding $5/player to the payouts for the tournament.

Monday Doubles 501/CR - Held on Saturday May 10th, 2014 at Tiki Time Bar & Grill in Beaver Lake, NE. Check-in 12pm, Shoot 1pm.

Wednesday Cass Co. Trios CR - Held on Sunday May 18th, 2014 at ???. Check-in 1pm, Shoot 2pm.

Thursday Team Cricket - Held on Saturday May 31st, 2014 at Shark Club in Omaha, NE. Check-in 12pm, Shoot 1pm. Shark Club will be adding $3/player to the payouts for the tournament.

The Omaha Pool league tournament will be held Saturday June 14th, 2014 at Stoli's Lounge in Omaha, NE. 

We look forward to some great tournaments and crowning new City Champions. Also remember, league-ending tournaments are also Ultimate Qualifier point-earning tournaments so playing in those tournaments gives you an advantage over the players who didn't play in your league.

Another reminder that signups are being taken via this website under "Join Now" for the Summer 2014 Greater Omaha Leagues. Paper signup forms will be delivered to locations next week. Thank you all, it's been a pleasure having you in our leagues and we look forward to next season.

Cass County area dart players...this one's for you. Get your children age 5-17 involved in the dart league this Summer and help out a wonderful cause. It will be an Adult/Youth Doubles traveling league on Tuesday nights at 7pm. Have to signup by May 21st, league begins June 3rd. All of the league money will be donated to a charity, which will be chosen by the League Champion team.

Every player in this league will receive a free "Think Pink" Dart League T-shirt for participating in the league. On top of that, the youth will get awarded achievement pins for their dart accomplishments throughout the season. At the end of the season, there will be a final league party to get all of the adults and youth together to celebrate the good they have done. With everyone's help, we would love to make this an annual league and continue to give to charities year after year.

There are so many great causes that could use the help, what better way to spend time with out children than to teach them to help others and make a difference?

The Plattsmouth VFW has become one of the new hot spots for local dart tournaments, starting a monthly tournament series in February. Each month the VFW, with help from player representative Sonny Seyler, is offering players a different style of tournament to help grow participation in the sport. The Plattsmouth VFW sponsors each of these events by adding $150.00 to the prize fund.

It's first event in February was a 5.0 Capped Doubles tournament. They followed that event with a 7.0 Capped Mixed Trips tournament, in which each team had to consist of at least one member of each gender. Continuing with their tournament series, on Saturday April 26th, 2014 they will be offering a Luck of the Draw dart tournament. This tournament, as always, will be open to all players regardless of experience, skill or league affiliation.

Many players may be familiar with the Plattsmouth VFW from their highly successful annual Night Before Thanksgiving Luck of the Draw dart tournament, which they have been doing for over a decade. The Thanksgiving tournament has been known for bringing in 60+ players each and every year from all over the metro area and the VFW wanted to give back to those players who have supported them for so long. The 2014 Plattsmouth VFW monthly tournament series was their answer.
